About

Headshot My name is John Medwick. I graduated with an IM (Interactive Media) Major with a Game Design Concentration and a studio art minor from Bradley University, in Peoria IL.
I have always been interested in video games since I grew up both watching my older brother play the NES and Sega Genesis and playing them myself. My older brother was the one who had always helped me whenever I had any technological or computer issues. As time had progressed and he went into college, I started having to solve those computer issues myself. I ended up enjoying the fact that I was able to figure out how to solve computer problems.

As I took a computer science class in college, I enjoyed the ability to read and create code; but disliked that in most situations, that I wouldn’t see the code actually work in action outside of the testing. During many of my Interactive Media classes, I became better at programming, and enjoyed the fact that I was able to see and interact with the codes I had created. I greatly enjoy working on projects, regardless of how difficult they may be because I like that I am able to look back at something I dedicated time on and smile with the thought "Yeah, I did that" in my head.

Thanks to my past experience in both Game production and testing, I have a strong understanding in that process as well as all the documentation required. I am primarily interested in the Game Design field and QA. Ideally, I would love to do QA for games, but because quality is important in almost everything, my QA skills are very transferable to other applications instead of being strictly limited to games.
